Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information. Last updated 30 September 2026.
Who we are
This website is run by Prudhoe Technology Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17462015. Our registered office is 5 Errington Place, Prudhoe, Northumberland, NE42 6LS.
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, get in touch through our contact page.
What we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to give us, plus a small amount of technical information needed to protect the website.
When you use our contact form
- your name and email address;
- optionally, your organisation, phone number and how you heard about us;
- the topic you choose and the message you write;
- your IP address, which is included with your enquiry to help us spot and block spam.
When you email us directly
Your email address, name and anything you include in your message.
When you visit the website
Like almost all websites, our web server keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, pages requested, and browser type. These are used only to keep the site secure and working properly.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and send you an automatic confirmation that we've received it.
- To arrange and carry out any consultation or work you ask us for.
- To protect the website against spam and abuse. For example, we temporarily record a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address to limit how many messages can be sent in a short period. This record is discarded after 30 minutes.
We will not add you to a mailing list, sell your information, or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Our lawful basis
We use your information because it is in our legitimate interests to respond to enquiries about our services and to keep our website secure. Where you ask us to provide services, we also use it to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and then to perform that contract.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run this website and handle email. They process information only on our instructions and are required to keep it secure. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an equivalent recognised mechanism.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows. If an enquiry doesn't lead to any work, we delete it within 12 months. Where we do work together, we keep the relevant records for as long as required for legal, accounting and tax purposes, usually six years.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking of any kind.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it;
- ask for your information in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, get in touch through our contact page. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
